Claudius and Alisha, brother and daughter of Sanford DeSales, photographed a year later in 2007. Sudheendra Tripathi of the Indian Express wrote a poignant piece about Sanford, which was included in a book that they published on the bombings, called 187 Lives.

It was my birthday, too. I had to split my evening trying to meet my story deadline, make a page and call people to find out if they were alive. It was horrible.
